Sunny has been facilitating since 1973. She spent 18 years working with the Institute of Cultural Affairs (ICA) in developing methods and processes to ensure full participation of people engaged together in any effort. Sunny served more than ten of those years overseas, primarily in the Pacific and Latin America. She remains a consultant with ICA and is senior facilitator with their local affiliate (ICA Denver). She joined the Council of Energy Resource Tribes (CERT) as Senior Facilitator in 2006 to expand its capacity in participatory decision making as a tool toward more effective development of Tribal economies in alignment with each Tribe's vision and priorities. Sunny is a founding member of the International Association of Facilitators (IAF) where she co-chaired the first conference in Denver in 1995 and has served as Membership Chair, Secretary, and Executive Coordinator. She is an IAF Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF), a Certified Technology of Participation Facilitator (CTF) and is an Assessor in both programs. Sunny is a Technology of Participation (ToP®) Mentor Level Trainer, and has worked at the national level on curriculum design.
In addition to her degree in English from the University of Oklahoma, she is certified in Human Capacities following years of work with Jean Houston and her master faculty. She has completed various training programs with Millionaire Mind Intensive, Catch Fire University, and Landmark Education.
